Iron Age Days 2017

Sunday 7th May and Sunday 10th September 2017 11.00am – 4.00pm Iron Age Day is one of our annual events and is held in September at the Museum in the Jim Ridge gallery. This year, due to popular demand, we are running a spring event too in May. In an informative and lively way, it demonstrates life in the Ribble Valley prior to the occupation of the Romans. This family oriented event features a small living history society called Timeline that recreates aspects of Celtic life including food and cooking, clothing and textile production and weapons and warfare. You will be amazed at how ingenious our Iron Age ancestors were! Children’s activities will include grinding grain with authentic quernstones, face painting and quizzes. The Museum and site are also open throughout the day as usual.
