Famous children’s author Caroline Lawrence will also be signing books and talking about her work Meet legionaries and Roman citizens face to face as Legio Secunda Augusta and Romanorum march into Bremetenacum Veteranorum. On show will be exciting military displays, the firing of artillery, Roman Cavalry and gladiatorial combat, along with colourful demonstrations of everyday life. There will be opportunities for children to dress up in Roman armour and our famous Roman snacks will be available. Displays open at 11am. First performance at 11.30. Admission charges £5.50 adult, Concessions £4.50 and £3.50 for children and includes admission to the Museum. This weekend is also an excellent opportunity to see the 2017 excavation in progress. The dig is located behind the Museum on the site of the northern gateway and archaeologists from the University of Central Lancashire will be on hand to explain the exciting finds as they are discovered.
